In September 1964, ‘Les Allen’ of the Note Printing Branch organised a social golf day at the Olinda Golf Course with the prize of a souvenir spoon.
Intermittent meetings took place from late in1964, for the purpose of forming a steering Committee to investigate the establishment of a Social Club, whereby both staff and their guests could meet for golf and social purposes.
This Steering Committee met several times and finally reported back to a meeting held on August 23rd 1965, where it was resolved that a Social Club be formed and known as ‘Note Printing Social Golf Club’.
The first official game was played on October 10th 1965 at the Kilmore Golf Club.
On January 4th 1966, the inaugural committee was duly elected and later that same year on September 9th, the Constitution was formally adopted.
In August 1969, at a Special General Meeting, the members passed a motion to change the name of the club to the RBVGC.
Since its inception the RBVGC has been a continuous and successful not-for-profit social golf club playing once per month, through the support and contribution of many volunteers, sponsors and the members.
